Magi 168: The war is finally before our eyes

Recap:

Laem empire's forces are advancing to Magnoshutatt and aboard their ships is no other than Alibaba!

In Magi chapter 168  at first we see Laem (or "Reim") High Priestess Scheherazade talking via magic to Magnostadt and to Matal Mogamett, declaring war between Magnostadt and Laem because the Academy smuggled magical weapons and "kidnapped" Titus Alexius.

From now on it's all out war between Magnoshutatt and Laem.

Lord Matal Mogamett has said previously owning a "power" or a "weapon" against the enemy and Aladdin says that only he can stop that.


It seems that the Academy City is behind 3 powerful barriers and Laem army tries to break through them.

Finally the magicians make an entrance to the battlefield. The war is finally materializing before our eyes. Some unknown magician from Magnostadt flips ground over where groups of Laem soldiers stand. Irene Smirnoff (Aladdin's Zemi teacher) is seen generating acid rain on the soldiers.

Magnostadts High class magicians are properly introduced:  they are the Guardian Deities of the country. Matal Mogamett then tells us about them shortly and then announces that Magnostadt will not fall because it can supply itself limitlessly.

High Priestess Scheherazade says that it will fall and the chapter ends.

I've just read in span of 3 days all of Magi's current 168 chapters and I have to say, that it's a great manga. The story is extremely well composed and a bit complex but still the artist managed to make it easily understandable. That is an amazing feat. Magi has been interesting, but now it has become very interesting: I'm glad that I have one more manga to follow weekly and actually wait for the next chapter.

This weeks chapter 168 is the first chapter that we actually see the war, since it has been spoken about for as long as tens of chapters ago. There's really not much to comment about, it wasn't particularly interesting, even though the couple of spells we saw were cool, but nevertheless it was an important chapter because now we will get to see even more amazing stuff.

Predictions

This week we only saw just a little bit of the power of Magnostadts High Class Magicians, but I believe next week in Magi chapter 169 we will see some of Leam empires elite forces and their most likely immense power.

I also predict that Magnostadt will fall eventually (not in chapter 169 of course). I can't really see how it wouldn't.

Aladdin will also show some of his skills this war, though I think it is a bit obvious.
