Oda has the best way to introduce important characters through sneaky "hype". Needless to say that his way makes readers squirm in excitement and feel dying want to read the next chapter. Here's a prime example of such hype in which I have to admit that got me wanting that next chapter more than anything else.
Introduction to Silvers Rayleigh also was sort of an introduction to Conqueror's Haki. It's funny how he pretended to be just an ordinary old man who tries to get some money from people buying him as a slave.
