Naruto Chapter 629: Edgy Obito

Comments:
It's good to read some Naruto after a week long break. Nothing special really in this chapter, but I'll write up something.

This chapter when I think about it was a bit better than I first thought.  I'm sure that a lot of fans thought it was very disappointing for Obito to do all these things only because Rin was killed by Kakashi and it's pretty evident that Kishimoto realized this. He obviously wanted to clear this out of the way and what would have been better way to do that than conveniently make Kakashi and Obito go together to another dimension?

Even though Obitos reason for being "evil" got some clarity I still find it a bit lacking how it makes him seem a bit too edgy with all the fakeness of the world but then again, I myself can't think any good reason for evilness in general, so that's for sure one struggle for story authors to figure out.

What actually surprised me was the windhole in chest of Obito, which was a great pull by Kishimoto, it somewhat made the chapter in some weird way. Great way of showing Obitos current state of mind.

Recap of Naruto Chapter 629: Windhole

-There's a full storm going on and apparently a nuke-like huge explosion

-Some or most of the shinobis are all right thanks to Narutos chakra.

-Naruto runs out of power, but then everybody rises up, Hinata says for everyone to join their forces.

-Meanwhile Obito and Kakashi drop down to the other dimension.

-Kakashi starts attacking with Raikiri instantly, however he stops just before hitting Obito.

-Kakashi starts talking how Obito used to remind him of Naruto a lot.

-Obito clears the though out of the way that he in fact didn't start the war because of Rin.

-It's revealed that Rin herself to die by the hand of Kakashi since she was maid into the Jinchuuriki of the Sanbi.

Naruto Chapter 628: Final Battle is About to Begin

Comments:
It's great to see some of the previously dull war when there's something to wait for: I really liked reading this weeks chapter.

As Naruto has already risen already to the lead of the Ninja alliance, it's been for a long time a definite indicator that Naruto will in fact be Hokage in the end of the series. Of course this has been in some way obvious for the whole time, but I just rolled an idea around my mind where Naruto has actually gone beyond the idea of being Hokage and resigns the position for someone else. That would be an excellent ending in my opinion, but the whole series is built all the way from the beginning for Naruto to achieve the status of Hokage so I still think that it's the most probable scenario.

Obito and Kakashi are going to have their final clash in other dimension - I really don't find much interest in that since Kakashi has pretty much lost his value to entertain long after the early days. Don't get me wrong, he is still pretty much awesome, but not as awesome as he used to be. This seems to be just a way for Kishimoto to deal with Obitos resentment towards Kakashi, I hope it doesn't drag for too long.

And finally we have the alliance versus Madara + Juubi. It looks like we are going to have the final battle pretty soon. Sasuke, Orochimaru and the previous hokages are along the way to battle against Madara. So it will in the end be that Sasuke and Naruto unite forces to fight against the bigger evil. It will without a doubt be an amazing battle, since there are basically the most powerful people fighting together. I just hope that Kishimotos art will keep up, it hasn't been too bad, but there's always room for improvement. As the series is going towards it's end, it would be perfect if Kishimoto would ie. release a chapter biweekly just to hone the art to the max. Even though it would be nice to read a weekly Naruto, I still appreciate good quality just too much.

Recap of Naruto Chapter 628: Here and from now on

-The fight continues between the alliance and Madaras bunch. -Madara and Obito attack with a fire/flame breath -attack, but Narutos Kyuubi chakra manages to protect everyone. Sakura is wondering whether this harms Naruto in some way.

-Obito tries to attack Naruto from above using time/space ninjutsu, Naruto however manages to dodge. It looks like Juubi is storing up chakra.

-Then we have some friendship stuff, Naruto announces that not having his friends is the most painful thing for him.

-Then we see some Madara, who notices familiar chakra approaching: it's Hashiramas chakra and Madara seems to be trembling with excitement by it.

-Kakashi and Obito went together to other dimension, Juubi released some powerful jutsu which created complete destruction with hurricanes and lightning.

Naruto Chapter 627: Ultimate Battle Ahead!

Comments:
I'm excited. It was a good chapter and a good build up for what's about to come: Four hokages combined, Sasuke, Orochimaru, this will be a great sight for us to see in the chapters to come. I really hope that Kishimoto manages to deliver all that he has built up with all the huge characters who are about to emerge in the form of the ultimate battle.

So, it was pretty expected that Sasuke turned out to take his brothers 'ideology' of protecting the village instead of blaming people who he was cooperating with against Uchiha clan. I gotta be honest and say that there's really not much to write about, since it was just an build up chapter (good one though).

What I still don't really get is Madara's "turn of evil", I wonder whether Kishimoto really decides to clarify it to the readers, which would mean that there could be some turn of events waiting for us.

Recap of Naruto Chapter 627: Sasuke's Answer

-So the flashback has ended and it's time for Sasukes decision / answer

-It seems that Sasuke has come to a conclusion that his brother died protecting Hashiramas will, which means that Sasuke will oppose Madara.

-Tobirama mentions of Kagami Uchiha, who in his opinion resembles Uchiha Itachi. Kagamis son was Shisui Uchiha, who was Itachis friend.

-Sarutobi says that he wasn't able to continue the second's work properly and for that reason he let Danzou handle the darkness of the village. We know how that turned out.

-They ask Sasuke what he's going to do and it seems he goes through all that happened through his head. He says that he is going to the battlefield and protect the Konoha Village.

-They go outside and prepare for the ultimate clash.

Naruto Chapter 626: Flashback End - Thank God

Comments:
Wow, I actually expected a good chapter, but in my opinion Naruto didn't deliver this week (too). The whole flashback was a great disappointment overall. So Madara just suddenly became mad, left the village and then they fought at some point with Hashirama? Either Kishimoto is seriously lacking ideas or he's planning to reveal something regarding that later.

I think that there really isn't at this point anything shrouded in mystery, Madara obviously didn't die by the hands of Hashirama immediately, but somehow got to the place where he brought Obito. He probably had found the statue earlier.

Either way in my opinion in this flashback we really didn't get much, at least I didn't. Hashiramas great personality didn't come through, the childhood of Madara and Hashirama were a bit too uninteresting, which in the end wouldn't have been a bad choice to be left in darkness. The origin of Konoha and actually all of the villages were revealed, but I can't decide whether that was important at all.

Thankfully the flashback is over so there's really no need to cry over spilled milk. What I consider great is that we'll get an answer from Sasuke in the next chapter and then the four hokages will be getting into action regardless of his choice I believe.

Recap of Naruto Chapter 626: Madara and Hashirama 2

-What is Madara planning? He's talking about "real dream", has he gone mad? After that Madara left the village.

-Hashirama and Madara had somewhat succeeded. Their village consept began spreading all over the ninja world and there were no wars at the moment.

-The scene changes to the continuing battle between Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara: Hashirama has just used Choujou Kebutsu Jutsu. Susanoo was removed from Kyuubi (Kurama)

-Hashiramas jutsu grabs Kyuubi with a big wooden hand, he then uses Kakuan Nitten Suishu, trying to grab Madara too.

-Then they jump to the ground and clash with melee. Hashirama gets hit to the ground, but then Madara gets stabbed from behind: the Hashirama on the ground was a wood bunshin. The fight had ended, Madara dying and Hashirama surviving.

-So the flashback is now over. Scene changes back to Sasuke and the others.

Naruto Chapter 625: Something Is Lacking

Comments:
Oh well, maybe I was expecting a bit too much from this flashback. The Hashirama which we saw when Sasuke, Orochimaru and their group revived the Hokages, is completely different from what we are seeing in the flashback. I really liked Hashiramas "presence", carefree and aloof but there is only a hint of that in the Hashirama that we are now seeing in the flashback.

Also, Kishimotos way of giving a reason for Uchihas hatred have pretty much been disappointing. Uchiha Itachis story was an excellent one, but Obitos and Madaras reasons for hatred have been in my opinion a bit lacking in a sense. Of course Obito seeing his good friend killing a girl he likes is a tremendous shock, but why does he ultimately want to destroy everything for that, not just Kakashi?

It may be that Madaras reason for turning around may be something more than what we have seen in this chapter, the only reason for his hatred seems to be his distrust of Senju, or Tobirama (and Tobiramas distrust of Uchiha) to be precise. I just hope that there's just more to it than just this, I feel that this flashback has been and is lacking just something. I hope that Kishimoto has figured what that something is instead of just showing us an slightly uninteresting story of how Konoha was formed.

Recap of Naruto Chapter 625: The Real Dream

-Madara has just made proposition to Hashirama to either kill himself or his brother Tobirama.

-Hashirama soon decides to kill himself for peace between Senju and Uchiha. He is about to hit himself with a kunai until Madara stops him saying that he believes Hashiramas resolution.

-Finally Uchiha and Senju join forces and they create the village, decide on the leaders name (which is Hokage, "fire shadow")  and on the village name, which is Konoha, Hidden leaf village.

-Soon after Hashirama and Tobirama talk with each other, Tobirama is still suspecting Uchiha being a risk to the village. They hear a rustle from nearby bush, Hashirama goes to check and finds the same leaf which Madara had when they talked on the cliff.

-In the next scene Hashirama has been chosen as the first Hokage of Konoha, he and Madara are talking at the place where the stone which needs to be deciphered with the sharingan resides.

-Hashirama says that Madara will most likely be the next hokage, but he disagrees and says that it will most likely be Tobirama, which will mean trouble for the Uchiha.

-They talk some more and Madara has come into a conclusion: he decides to leave the village and says that while he walks towards his real dream he will enjoy fighting with Hashirama. "Madara turns "evil"".

Naruto Chapter 624: Build Up Towards The End Of Flashback

Comments:
It's great to see that this flashback, as it really didn't meet my expectations, got pretty quick change of pace in this chapter where there was covered all the years between Hashiramas and Madaras childhood and the moment where the war is nearing its end.

I'm however uncertain that what will be the outcome of this certain proposition by Madara in which he wants Hashirama to either kill himself or his brother Tobirama. What we already know is that no one of those three dies here so it's somewhat a weird end for the chapter. I'd say that it somewhat gave me mixed feelings since it wasn't a cliffhanger per se, but I'm still interested in seeing in what kind of decision Hashirama and Tobirama will end up with.

In the end this chapter was a necessary bad, as it really didn't bring up anything that we didn't already know of, but still what I mean by necessary is that there has to be some chapters that bring continuation between the "goodies".

Still waiting for the actual reason why we are being shown this flashback - apart from couple of  "new" characters introduced I don't think we've seen anything which we haven't heard about before in Naruto. Sasuke wanted to know what is the village (and why his brother Itachi risked his life to protect it) so that he could decide whether to take revenge on Konoha, but after this week I'm starting to doubt if there's even coming any kind of good revelation. This whole flashback has turned out to be a bit too plain in my opinion, but I've still no given up the hope for something good to happen.

Recap of Naruto Chapter 624: Aiko

-So Uchiha and Senju clans clash at the beginning - Hashirama and Madara come into conclusion that it's useless to chase after the dream they had.

-As it's now revealed to Madara that Hashirama is in fact Senju, he decides that next time when they meet on the battlefield he's going to go all out. After saying that Uchiha Madara awakens his Sharingan.

-Over the years to come the Uchiha and Senju fight against each other, but Hashirama still tries to convince Madara to stop the fighting.

-Soon Madara acquired the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, which he got from his brother who died earlier. We are then shown Madara using his Susanoo for the first time.

-At the end of the chapter Hashirama tries to convince Madara for the last time to stop and straighten things out. Madara wants Hashirama to either kill himself or his brother Tobirama and only then will he trust the Senjus.

Naruto Chapter 623: The Two Idealists

Comments:
Well it was a semi-good chapter this time, a bit better than last time in my opinion. We got to see how Madara and Hashirama truly bonded as a kids and how they both were alike in terms of having great ideals. It was a nice thing to see how they decided as a young kids where to build Konoha Village.

It was somewhat unexpected for Tajima Uchiha / Izuna Uchiha and Butsuma Senju / Tobirama Uchiha to arrange traps against each other at the same time, but it's nonetheless a great thing: in next chapter we undoubtly will be seeing some great action.

Recap of Naruto Chapter 623: A View

-Hashirama Senju and Uchiha Madara are training together as kids

-They are talking about their idealisms and wondering how to change the world, they also became closer each time they met.

-They decide to have a wall climbing challenge and once they arrive to the top of the cliff they watch over the forest where they would build Konoha (Village Of The Leaf) Village in the future. Madara almost reveals that he has Sharingan.

-Hashiramas father finds out of him meeting with a kid and reveals to him that Madara is from Uchiha Clan. They make up a plan to ambush Madara.

-Once they arrive to the river they throw skipping stones at each other finding out that they both have a note of a trap in each others stones.

-They both start running away and then both of their parents and brothers appear, Madaras Father Tajuma Uchiha and his brother Izuna / Hashiramas father Butsuma Senju and Tobirama.

Naruto Chapter 622: The Shinobi War Between The Clans

Comments:
At first I was pretty disappointed by this weeks chapter, it was honestly a bit boring. I understand that there has to be this kinds of chapters to make some room for more amazing ones which include great twists and actions.

This chapters theme was obviously Hashirama learning of the war and forming his opinion of the futility of it all. The meeting with Madara was predicament for future agreement / alliance of which we know already. Madara finally getting his stone to the other side symbolizes him reacing to the other side in other words the river is like a gap between the two shores: Hashirama and Uchiha who are at war.

I wonder though how the currently unknown Hagoromo clan is part of all this, but I believe that we will get clarity to that later on. I believe that through some way Uchiha and Senju join their forces and destroy Hagoromo clan.

Recap of Naruto 622: To The Other Side

-Young Madara is asking Hashirama who he is, Hashirama says he can't tell his surname.

-Madara still can't get his throw to the other side and accuses Hashirama for that who gives in saying he's sorry.

-It's quickly revealed that Hashirama is mostly playing around.

-Soon they see a body floating along the river, Hashirama goes to it and sees that it's the crest of the Hagoromo clan.

-The two part their ways, Hashirama tells that that time he felt they were somehow close.

-Scene changes to a place where there are lots of Senju shinobis in their coffins getting ready to be buried. Someone called Kawarama Senju aged 7 has died and is being buried.

-It is revealed that the enemy was Hagoromo as well as Uchiha.

-The two other kids with Hashirama are Itama and Tobirama, Itama Senju is his younger brother.

-Hashirama has an argument with his father about war, shinobis etc.

-At this point Hashurama is planning an agreement, an alliance, which will happen in the future.

-Not long after Itama Senju died by the hands of Uchiha clan.

-Madara and Hashirama meet once again at the river. They talk about stuff regarding Shinobis, family and war.

-Madaras stone finally reached the other side.

Naruto Chapter 621: Hashirama vs. Madara

Comments:
The battle between Hashirama Senju and Uchiha Madara was awesome as expected. Kyuubi wearing Susanoo like an armor was an awesome thing to make up. It's great for Kishimoto to show us this fight at this point when the war between Madara and the ninja alliance was honestly getting boring. Hashirama Senju and Uchiha Madara have been hyped up for more than 500 chapters so it's time for Kishimoto finally to show us some great plot twists that he's been hiding from us all this time.

Nothing particularly new in this weeks chapter: the battle was awesome and I'm interested to see what happened between them when they were kids: hopefully we get to see many chapters of this flashback.

Recap of Naruto Chapter 621: Hashirama and Madara

-The Legendary fight between Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara is shown.

-Madara made Kyuubi Bijuu wear Susanoo like an armor wearing swords.

-Hashirama is using Mokuton Goubi no Jutsu to fight against Madara

-Hashirama the n uses Mokuton Hotei No Jutsu to try to trap Madara and Bijuu, but the "hands" get cut along with nearby mountains.

-Hashirama starts to run towards the sea, Madara attacks him with Bijuu attack combined with a Susanoo's sword.

-It is countered with Gojuu Rashoumon that changes the trajectory of Madaras attack

-Senju Hashirama's face gets couple of cool tattoos and he uses Senpou Mokuton Shinsuusenju ("A few thousand of hands". which brings forth an avatar that has thousands of hands attached to it.

-Then we are brought back to even further past which shows Madara and Hashirama as kids and how they met.

Naruto chapter 620: Hashirama Senju Flashback

Comments

What an amazing chapter: The whole history of Konoha village, Hashirama vs. Madara is about to be unveiled. This chapter showed us pretty well how awesome Hashirama can be. Hashirama turned out to be very aloof as well as very influential when it matters. I like his character a lot and would like to see some spin off of naruto showing Hashirama Senjus earlier life. That would definitely be awesome.

I think that we'll be getting in the next couple of chapters some heavy and super interesting stuff about the history. At this point when Kishimoto reveals everything that there's up to the history of Naruto he is also in my opinion indirectly saying that Naruto truly is coming towards to the end. I'm not worried however: I was already a bit disappointed because the war dragged on too much and there were too many "filler" chapters to only make it seem that the war is long and hard, but were too boring instead.

Now he is showing his last ace to clear up all the mysteries that have trivialed fans for years and that is only a good thing, we've still got something to wait for in this series. After the flashback I'll say as a prediction that Sasuke will most likely make the decision to aid the Konoha. It would only be suitable for Madara and Obito to stay as the last villains of Naruto.

Recap of Naruto Chapter 620:

-Sasuke is asking questions from Hashirama to find out wether to carry on with his revenge or not.

-The second, Tobirama gets angry and is about to go wild, but Hashirama stops him with his presence alone.

-Orochimaru reveals the the world is currently at war. Sarutobi and Tobirama want to go out there, but Orochimaru is restraining them. Tobirama however would otherwise broken the jutsu, but couldn't because Orochimaru apprently has Hashiramas cells. Hashirama himself however broke the restraint and wants to free Sasuke form his ill feelings.

-Hashirama sits down and starts talking about the past we get a flashback scene of Hashirama Senju and Uchiha Madara fighting.

-Uchiha Madara is controlling the Kyuubi, Hashirama uses Mokuton Mokuryuu No Jutsu to restrain it. He also uses Mokuton - Mokujin No Jutsu to swallow one of Kyuubi's attacks. Uchiha Madara is also seen using his Susanoo.

Naruto 619: Birth of Sharingan explained

Comments

Ok this was a decent chapter, couple of pointers:

-I really loved Senju Hashiramas very carefree character! Too bad that he is dead and we won't be seeing more of him.

-Tobirama basically just explained that Uchiha's are a bunch of emo's who create destruction because of that. I did not expect that and it's sort of an explanation that I wasn't even eager to know.

-so this week's Naruto cliffhanger is Sasuke asking what are shinobi in the first place. We have read over 600 chapters of Naruto and kept it granted that there are shinobis fighting against each other. This is in my opinion brilliant thing to question this that why do Shinobi's even exist in the first place?

I think that the answer to this question may be more simple that could be imagined at first: I think that villages and shinobis were formed to create communities with friendship and love. That would be too much of a cliche so I would like to see something better from Kishimoto about this.

Recap of Naruto 619: Clan possessed by Evil

The four hokages are before Sasuke and others.

Sarutobi comes to a correct conclusion that they removed the seal of Shikifuujin and then used Edo Tensei.

Orochimaru tells the hokages how he managed to remove the seal.

Then Hashirama suddenly starts asking who Minato is who tells him that he's the fourth Hokage, Hashirama is excited about this.

He then asks who's the fifth, who is of course his Grand daughter Tsunade. Now Hashirama is wondering whether the village is alright. He then proceeds to tell us that he really spoiled her and taught her some gambling also.

Soon it's Uchiha Sasukes turn to ask them some questions. Tobirama clearly despices Uchiha.

Sasuke asks the third, Sarutobi why he ordered Itachi to carry his mission to assassinate the Uchiha Clan.

Sarutobi tells him how Uchiha Itachi was always a bit different from the others and how he was suitable for the mission. He of course evenntually carried it out with the condition to protect Sasuke.

Tobirama starts to explain what's going on with Uchiha, he says that they are a clan possessed by evil.

Tobirama explains that Uchiha's felt so much love that when they lost it they felt the opposite: great despair which led to certain symptom: the despair produced a change in their eyes, hence creating the Sharingan.

In the end of chapter 619 Sasuke asks Hashirama what is a village and what are shinobi in the first place?

Naruto 618: Revival of the Four Hokages

Recap and Comments of Naruto 618: The Ones Who Know Everything

The chapter starts with scene from a broken, abandoned house where Sasuke and his group (Including Orochimaru) have arrived. Sasuke goes inside and asks which one is it referring to wall full of masks which resemble "devils" with horns and everything.

Orochimaru takes the one they are apparently looking for with his snake hand and after that he says it's time to move on to the place where all the secrets slumber..

Sasuke and his group are walking in Konoha village which is a bit deserted, with only couple of people walking around the 'city'. Sasuke goes on top of a water tank to watch over the city and mentions this place having changed quite a bit. Orochimaru takes some time explaining what's going on with Sasuke to his group.

Sasuke goes beside a big slab of rock in the middle of some rumbles that has Uchicha mark on it and a apparent seal. Sasuke moves it with a jutsu. They make casual mentions how there's nothing left of the Uchiha Nakano shrine.

They go inside in front of a stone tablet and Orochimaru puts the mask on his face. Something happens to Orochimaru and we see a character (Shikifujin) appear, reaper familiar from a certain jutsu that the third hokage used to seal Orochimaru's hands.

We geat a flashback explaining about the reaper's mask which was the one Orochimaru used, it was found in the Uzumaki Clans mask temple on the outskirts of Konoha, after putting the mask on they must allow the Shikifujin (which means the basically the reaper that appeared) to possess you in order to release it.

To undo the jutsu, you need it to slice it's belly and Orochimaru needs to become a sacrifice in exchange so that way he will be able to regain his arms.

So Orochimaru gains his arms back and will be able to cast Edo Tensei. To summon "Those Four" they'll need to "donate" something for the jutsu: Juugo transfers the power of his cursed seal into Sasuke and doing that will force Tobi's spies, Zetsu clones to exit Sasuke's body.

The Zetsu clones then are used for donation to the Edo Tensei No Jutsu! As I expected, the ones who they revived are the previous Hokages, The First Hokage Hashirama Senju, The Second Hokage Tobirama Senju, The Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi and The Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze.

It was certainly a great chapter and it somewhat managed to keep my interest piqued. It's great to see that Sasuke is actually having a decent plan that he may execute either while the alliance is fighting against Madara and Obito. What I find interesting is that they revived the four hokages and as they themselves refer to them that they are the "ones that know it all" so they may get some important information regarding them and last but not least, they will be an invaluable fighting assett for them.

I think we should be really getting a conclusion regarding Obito, Madara and Juubi, since all that doesn't interest me somehow anymore: the mystery of Tobi has been revealed, Madara's best parts were seen already which were amazing, so at this point they don't have much to offer to the readers at this point. I'd like to see what Sasuke is going to do now, since he's a lot more interesting at this point than everyone revolving around Juubi.

Naruto 617: Ninja alliance renewed

Recap of Naruto chapter 617: Whirling and Enduring 2

The battlefield: Rock Lee is shown reminiscing about Neji, how they were supposed to be rivals till they fight each other all out. Naruto then goes past him and gives Lee some of his Kyubi chakra. Lee then closes dead Neji's eyes.

At the same time Kakashi is noting how Kyubi's chakra is stronger than before. It's also mentioned at this point that Kyubi's chakra is 3 times more powerful.

Then Kurama explains us about the logic behind Naruto's chakra spreading. It seems that Naruto is the only one who can actually even do that, since he has Kushina's blood and has been Jinchuuriki for many years. Naruto has become so skilled that he's able to transform the chakra to meet each person's type when he transmits it to them. Minato also usen to pass his own chakra to Naruto.

Kurama mentions that Naruto has already surpassed his parents, Kushina and Minato.

The battlefield is 'renewed', the alliance has gotten at least some of it's power back. Madara thinks whether he should also give some power too. The alliance fights together, using several skills: Iseen, Biduu-Dama, Fuuton ookakeami, Hakke Kuuhekishou, repelling Juubi's hands.

Obito mentions of curse of shinobi, which originates from main and branch families of Hyuuga.

Naruto leads a mass of shinobi forming "a bird" or maybe like a raasen shuriken which first cuts one of the Juubi's hands and then proceeds to go straight against Obito and Madara. They manage to at least cut the tubes that support the Juubi, but can't damage either Obito nor Madara.

At the end of chapter 617 Sasuke arrives somewhere with Orochimaru and his "underlings", we can only guess what that place is.

Comments and Predictions

A decent chapter, the war proceeds well. Kakashi mentioned his Kamui in this chapter and he will most likely be able to take down Obito with some coordination with other ninjas. As for Madara, can't really say what could keep him down since doesn't rely on the jutsu that Kabuto did.

Not much to say, but the Sasuke plot development seems a bit interesting: where has he arrived and what is he planning to do?

Naruto 616: Naruto spreading his Chakra

Recap of Naruto 616: Whirling and enduring

We see Sasuke first time in a while and his posse including Orochimaru is sensing Narutos chakra from far away. It seems to bother Sasuke a little.

Scene changes to the battlefield where Naruto is holding hands with Hinata and apparently giving some of his own / Kyubi Chakra to her. Kurama says he modified his chakra and handed it over to Naruto.

Naruto does Kagebunshin no Jutsu and spreads his chakra through them to many of the people fighting on the battlefield. Interestingly enough Madara and Obito just watch what he's doing and do nothing.

Hinata uses Hakke Kuushoi (empty hand) on one of the hands spreading from ten tails (Juubi) and it's effective. Naruto's Kyubi chakra seems to work very well.

Chouji and his father uses Baika no Jutsu and grow up to stop more of Juubi's hands.

Inoue and Shikamaru are getting ready using Kagemane no - and Shintenshin no jutsus.

There's a small flashback of couple of pages covering some of their past stuff concerning people around them.

Obito says not to underestimate them: suddenly there are spikes growing out of Juubis hands. Ino manages to sway Juubis hand away from Chouji.

Nara clan get together and try to bind Juubi's with their shadows. They manage to stop it.

Rock Lee cries over Nejis death.

We get a little bit of "friendship" and "loved ones" speaks from Kakashi and Naruto and then the chapter ends.

Comments and Predictions

Well, Naruto this week was a disappointing, not that I waited anything special: after the Obito reveal and Madara showing off this was has been honestly too boring.

As for predictions, I think will and should be seeing more of Sasuke and what he's up to. I'm not sure whether we've been revealed what he and Orochimaru (who was supposed to be trapped?) are up to. Can't really say what will happen in the war: I think Madara and Obito may manage to at least start their ultimate jutsu, but of course heroes will prevail in the end. I think that all the Sasuke x Naruto stuff will happen after Madara has been taken care of and then it's possible that this mangas plug will be pulled. Finally.

Don't get me wrong, Naruto has been an excellent story, but now it has unfortunately lost it's good flow.

Did Kishimoto make a mistake?

By putting Naruto through this ever lasting war? It feels like last minute monetizing of a good brand before pulling the plug and ending the series. I think all the mysteries and secrets have been pretty much revealed so there's really nothing left to wait for in Naruto. Kishimoto had a good run, but there's no more gas to keep passengers entertained.

I'd like to see Naruto to end already and wait for Kishimotos next title: hopefully it will be as good as Naruto in its early years.

Naruto and Hinata going against Madara

So, once again there didn't really happen anything in Naruto, except Kishimoto managed to kill one of the best charactes of the series. It felt a little bit anticlimatic.

At least there was something decent in the chapter, but I'm honestly sort of waiting for Naruto to end. I'll stay waiting for the conclusion.
